Tinctures

What is a Tincture?

Tinctures are concentrated herbal extracts that have alcohol as the solvent.

I prefer to use vodka as the menstruum for my tinctures, because it is more neutral and the taste of the herb really comes through.

Tinctures can be taken straight by the dropper or diluted in tea or water.

I recommended that you consult with your health care provider before you purchase a tincture and for advice on appropriate use for your personal needs. Some herbs are not recommended for people with certain illnesses or diseases, for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and if you take certain medications.
