It’s the Simple Things

With all of the hate in the world today, it makes you sit back and analyze your life. It’s times like this that make you love, literally, like there is no tomorrow.

While analyzing my life I have found that I spend too much time on Facebook, chores and busywork and not enough time having FUN with my kids.

I have found that I need to spend more time visiting my Mom & Dad…they aren’t getting any younger. I have found that I would rather talk to people on the phone or in person instead of on Facebook or texting. I have found that I would rather have a messy house and happy hearts than a tidy house and loneliness. I have found that no matter how many “lists” I make, I will never feel more accomplished than when one of my children announce “I get it!” while homeschooling. I have found that it’s the simple things in life that really matter.

Simple things like holding my daughters hands while walking into the grocery store and when my son opens up to me for the first time and feels secure talking with Momma about personal stuff. Simple things like sitting all snuggled up on my couch with all three kids squishing the air out of my lungs, but at the same time having my lungs fill up with joy. Simple things like taking a drive with my husband and having his huge warm hand holding mine, sending tingles up my arm and straight into my heart. Simple things like taking a boat ride and having the cool lake air blow through your hair. Simple things.

That’s what life is all about. It’s not about how fancy your house is, it’s about how warm & welcoming your home is. It’s not about how fancy your vehicle is, it’s about the memories made from every mile you drove. It’s about family, friends and making memories to last a lifetime. It’s about God’s will and doing right by God. Simple things.

So from here on out I will be appreciating the simple things more and loving like there is no tomorrow.

I hope y’all have a wonderful weekend and may God bless each and every one of y’all.
