Unit 10, Intermediate Course, The Herbal Academy

Happy Labor Day!

For my “day off” I decided to finish up Unit 10 of the Intermediate Course! Unit 10 was very interesting, I learned a lot about using herbs with children, babies, and even breastfeeding mommas. I also learned a bit about the legalities of herbalism. It was all so very interesting and I soaked it all up like a sponge!

With each Unit I complete, I have to submit a recipe in the recipe report forum. So, my daughters and I made the Three Needs Tea. I love that forum, there are literally thousands of very unique recipes in there!

First we got our supplies ready…jars & lids, measuring cups, labels, markers, and herbs. We also made sure everything was clean & dry.

Next, we mixed our herbs in the jars. We used equal parts of chamomile, catnip, and lemon balm. It smelled heavenly.

Then it was time for some herbal tea! My daughters used 1/2 teaspoon and I used 1 tsp. of the Three Needs Tea blend.

I thoroughly enjoyed creating this tea with my daughters, it also gave me the opportunity to teach them about each wonderful herb.

My older daughter named her tea “Dream Tea”. She is the one who wears ‘rose colored glasses’ and will bust out with a song and a dance in a huge crowd, but dances like nobody is watching.

My younger daughter named her tea “Strong Tea”. She’s my rough and tough little cowgirl. She loves to garden with me and learn about herbs.

Tea time was a big hit, both of my daughters enjoyed making their own tea, but only one enjoyed drinking it. I do believe my younger daughter put in a little too much honey. I will continue having tea time with my daughters each day, I forgot how much fun we used to have when we had tea together! I hope y’all have a great week and thanks for stopping by to read my blog! 😊
